Galileo brought back Student Court this year; Student Court is a club where members decide the punishments for students who broke minor school rules. Meetings are held in Coach Papa’s room (263) every Tuesday at lunch. Students participating in this club hope to expand their knowledge of the judicial process through stimulation of a real court setting. Roles of the club include judges and public defenders to help defend those with legitimate reasons for their infractions and to determine the punishment of an convicted offender. Coach Papa hopes to “make student court as productive as it was in the past years with the cooperation of the dean’s office and the gift of energetic students.” Deans receive help from participating students to make the school a fun, safe, and acceptable environment with the return of the Student Court club.
