Winter Sports Recap

IMG_7728Varsity Basketball Boys– The Varsity boys Basketball team finished the season in 2nd place in Division 2, ending with a record of 11-1. They had a marquee game against June Jordan where they scored 100 points. However, in the playoff, the Lions were destroyed by Mission (42-74).

unnamedVarsity Basketball girls– The Varsity girls Basketball team had a rough season, finishing last in Division 1(0-10). The team’s closest game was the last game Mission where they narrowly lost 64-63. Even with a losing record, the Lions still made it to the playoffs but lost to Lowell (46-85). “It was a challenging season, but enjoyable with all of my teammates.” – senior Roalla Toy

 

 

 

 

 

 

soccervb_franciscoBoys Varsity Soccer- This year the Varsity boys Soccer team finished 5th place in Division 1  (7-6-1) missing the playoffs by just 1 game. The team started off the season strong with a win against O’Connell (4-1) and also defeated Lincoln in a close game of 3-2.  

“I am proud of what we did with a whole new team and I have high hopes for next year”-  junior captain Elmer Gil Cordova.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Varsity Girls Soccer- This season was rough for the Varsity girls Soccer team, as they ended up in 5th place in Division 1 (1-7) and did not make the playoffs. The teams 1 win came against Lincoln (4-2). Despite their record, the girls believed they worked hard this season and are proud of that.

Wrestling– The Varsity Wrestling team could not repeat as champions this year, but still had a very strong season placing 2nd overall in the league (4-2) & in all-city to Lowell. Individually, Juniors Brandon Tu & Tuguldur Maral-Erdene both placed 1st in their weight class at all-city.
