Hit 2017 Summer Songs


The summer of 2017 is almost here and some great summer songs are needed to keep the summer alive. Here are the Galileo Press choices for this year’s summer anthems.

 

Song: “I’m the One” by Dj Khaled (feat. Justin Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper & Lil Wayne)

What it’s about: Being grateful, and inviting all your friends over to your house to celebrate your existence.

Why is it a summertime anthem: This song has a catchy tune with tons of guest artists. The song’s catchiness appeals to the younger crowd.

Line to remember: Yeah, you’re lookin’ at the truth, The money never lie, no. I’m the one, yeah, I’m the one.”

 

Song: “Slide” by Calvin Harris (feat. Frank Ocean & Migos)

What it’s about: The singer questioning someone who is uncommitted in any relationship and why they need to sleep around.

Why is it a summertime anthem: You’ll most likely hear this song at beach bonfires this summer with its relaxing melody combined with Frank Ocean’s soothing voice.

Line to remember:Do you slide on all your nights like this? Do you try on all your nights like this? (I might)

Put some spotlight on the slide, Whatever comes, comes through clear

 

Song: “I Spy” by KYLE (feat Lil Yachty)

What it’s about: Positive vibes and living life to the fullest; and spotting good looking women online

Why is it summertime anthem: KYLE’s cheerful voice and upbeat sound should put people in a better mood all summer long.

Line to remember:All this shade that’s comin’ at me, I wonder who throws it, They can’t see the vision, boy they must be out of focus.”

 

Song: “Humble” by Kendrick Lamar

What it’s about: Breaking down the relationships that the artist has had with women throughout his life

Why it’s a summer hit: Everyone loves Kendrick Lamar and the things the lyrics in this songs have a way of sticking in your head along with it’s unique beat and sound.  

Line from the song: “[Intro] Wicked or weakness, You gotta see this, Waaaaay (yeah, yeah!) Nobody pray for me, If you’re not there for me, Waaaaay (yeah, yeah!)”

 

Song: “PassionFruit”  by Drake

What is it about: The artist passion for a women no matter how far away she is

Why it is a summertime hit: Drake’s new islander sound has become very catchy this year, so why wouldn’t this song be any different, especially when everyone is thinking about going to the beach during the summer.

Line from the song: “Passionate from miles away

Passive with the things you say, Passin’ up on my old ways, I can’t blame you no, no”
