The teams took their tie score into the second half, but in the third quarter, junior quarterback Dana Liu scored on a run play, giving the Lions a 12-6 lead that they never let go. The Lionness’ used their impressive defense to hold down the Mustangs the rest of the game and take home the championship.

Leaving a legacy of winning two championships in three years is something I think we should really be proud of.” Senior Haley Mercado, added,“All our hard work paid off. Purple reign!”
The coaches were extremely proud of the girls. Head coach, Donald Harper, said,“Pressure does two things. It can burst pipes, or it can make diamonds. These girls definitely made diamonds today.”
