For my challenge I decided to drink 2 liters of water everyday for 7 days. I decided to do this challenge because l usually only drinking a 16 ounce bottle of water, along with a lot of juice. When Mr. Lee posed this challenge to us, I heard someone talking about doing a water challenge, and I realized that I needed to drink more water because, so I thought that it would be a good idea if I did it myself. I also felt like this challenge could help moisturize my skin and reduce my risk of having acne.
I settled on drinking 2 liters of water a day because I thought that drinking a gallon of water a day would’ve been too much, while drinking a liter of water would’ve been too little, so 2 liters seemed just right for me. Also, I decided to stop drinking juice while I’m doing the challenge because it would help me focus and complete the challenge.
On the first day, I couldn’t find any 2 liter water bottles, so on my way to school I bought a liter water bottle, then I had to refill it again at the water fountain to the top to drink another liter of water. One of the things I noticed the first day was that it took a lot of time to drink that much water. I would constantly be drinking water throughout the day, but it felt like there was always more for me to drink.
On the school days I drank water throughout the day, starting in my first period class. But, the weekends were more difficult because I started drinking water a little late in the afternoon. It felt a little overwhelming drinking all that water because I had to start drinking it at a certain time in order to finish it before midnight and it was annoying drinking water all the time.
On the first 2 days of the challenge, I was really motivated and drinking only water didn’t seem that bad, but the 3rd day I started wavering. On most nights I drink apple juice with my dinner but during the challenge I was drinking water instead. On that 3rd day though I started really craving juice, I missed the flavor and sweetness of the juie. The plainness of water was getting tiring to drink. However I didn’t crack. I think because I had never done anything like this kind of challenge before I felt like I really wanted to complete it and I stayed disciplined and didn’t drink any juice.
In the end of this challenge, I think that it went well and I felt a little bit more energized and way more hydrated than I was before. The only difficulties of drinking all that water was having the need to go to the bathroom almost every hour, but besides that, the challenge was easy.
Even though the challenge is over, I learned that I can start drinking smaller portions of juice everyday and focus on drinking more water. I felt really proud to accomplish challenges, and I’m eager to try something else, but the problem is, I haven’t been able to think of another challenge.
