APES Visits Presidio Native Plant Nursery

By Ailin Liang & Michelle Lee

Working on projects about plant restoration, Ms. Franzen’s AP Environmental Science class went on a field trip to the Presidio Native Plant Nursery to learn more about the care of baby plants. Students got a tour of the nursery, helped the volunteers transplant about 50 Juncus plants, and also washed 300 dirty pots so they could be used again. Many students enjoyed the experience of getting to see how plants are cared for from seedlings to plants ready to be planted outside.
