Health Academy Practices Birth Assistant Skills

Learning how to put traction splints on as well as assisting in birth, the Health Academy EMT class on Saturday, April 6th, 2019, finished up their final Saturday class as part of the skills training needed to become an EMT. Throughout the 6 hour class, students learned how to splint an injured person’s leg using a traction splint, and then learned how to assist the delivery of a baby, including cut the placenta, cut the umbilical cord, and swaddle the baby.
