The string orchestra performed 6 pieces; “Ridin’ the Rails”, Shipping up to Boston, Didn’t My Lord Deliver Daniel, Dance of the Reed “Flutes”, “Palladio” and “Echelon”, while the band performed 5 pieces; “Japanese”, “The Love for Three Oranges”, “Waltz from Masquerade”, “Somewhere in Time” and “Ride of the Valkyries”.
The event was directed by Orchestra teacher, Mr. Taylor, and Band teacher, Ms. Sakura. Performers practiced for over a month and a half to prepare for the performance. Ms. Sakura and Mr. Taylor were both proud of the hard work the students put in. Ms. Sakura said, “ I think they did great because all of the students did their best on the performance. They enjoy the performance and we received lots of positive feedback from the parents. This year the orchestra and the band did more collaboration compared to the past years.”
