The highlight for every Song and Yell are the skits. Each class spends weeks choreographing and practicing to try and help their class win while the crowd roars in approval. This year’s theme, the elements (fire, water, earth, and air), made each class really stretch their creativity in order to come up with a unique skit that stood out from the rest. While each class’ skit had their share of highlights, here’s the way Galileo press had them ranked.
Seniors – 4th
The seniors had a lot energy coming into Song and Yell but they didn’t look prepared for the dance part of it. Some people looked like they didn’t know what they were doing while others did so it looked a little out of sync. Their skit also didn’t really correlate to their element which was fire and same goes with their song choices. It seemed too unorganized to really catch an eye for it unfortunately. It also seemed like they took bits and pieces from past Song and Yell choreography. I would give them a 2.5 out of 5 stars.
Freshman – 3rd
Last but certainly not least are the freshman who got a surprising second place. The choreography was pretty good, they weren’t too shy, the skit was very creative, and everything made sense to their element; air. The freshman brought a lot of energy and did the best they could. I was definitely surprised with how well they did. I’ll give them a 3 stars out of 5.
Sophomores – 2nd
The sophomores had a surprisingly good skit which had to do with climate change since their element was Earth. They had two groups, the people who cared about climate change and the other group was vice versa. Their song choices made sense, they looked well choreographed, the skit was creative, but the only downside was that they had a smaller group and also didn’t have the same amount of energy as everyone else. Overall I give them a solid 3.5 stars out of 5.
Juniors – 1st
The juniors did a very good job, so good that they ended upsetting everyone and won Song and Yell as a whole! The element they got was water and their song choices were pretty good. The skit could’ve been a little better because it was a little vague but their choreography was great! They gave a lot of energy, effort, and were super in sync. The school spirit they brought was through the roof. They were one of the only groups who wore their colors. I give the juniors a nice 4 stars out of 5.
