Expectations are high for the varsity basketball teams as both the girls and boys teams came one win away from making the championship last season. In addition the boys F/S team won the championship, while the girls JV team came up just short in the championship game. With much of the talent from last year’s team coming back this year, the Galileo Press wanted to see what players and coaches were focusing on and to learn a bit more about them with the season right around the corner.
Coach Lee, boys assistant coach
“I’ve been coaching for 22 years, and joined the galileo staff in 2008. I would love the varsity team to make the city championship, be accountable for each other, play selflessly, and to grow as young men. I am very impressed with Darryn, going into his 4th year, he has been helping me this summer finding who’s coming to practices. His play has also been great and steadily improving each year. I hope we are in the top 4 teams with Washington, Lowell, and Lincoln.”
