Teachers wanting to promote a good math culture or help raise money volunteered to get smothered by shaving cream at the annual pie day on Mar 14, 2025 in the Van Ness Gym. The money raised from the fundraiser went to the Class of 2027. Teachers who participated in the event included PE teachers like Mr. Mendoza, Coach Nick, and Mr. Braund; science teachers like Mr. Cadette, Mr. O, Mr. Barrios, and Mr. Matsumoto; math teachers like Mr. Ring, Ms. Su, and Mr. Crockett; and Galileo staff like AP Avar and Dr. Rodgers.
“I keep hoping that this will be the year that enough students don’t like me, that I could raise $100 for the sponsoring class,” said Class of 2027 sponsor Mr Cadette. Math teacher, Ms. Su, added, “I think it promotes good culture for the school and students may think that math can be fun one way or another.”
