Ghouse is back in the Loop

One noticeable thing about the new bell schedule this year is that there is no longer an advisory time, which has meant most students do not have the opportunity to watch Ghouse TV anymore. Even though the multi-media pathway uploads new videos every other week, barely any students or teachers have not been watching these new videos.

In an attempt to get more attention to these videos, the administration team has now created a schedule that makes each period show Ghouse TV two times a year.

With many of the students from the digital communications pathway feeling like their work wasn’t getting any attention or exposure, assistant principal, Mr. Panjabi was brought in to help solve the problem. His solution was to show the new Ghouse TV episode every two weeks in a different class period. For example if period 1 showed an episode on December 4th, then period 2 would show it on the 15th, and 3rd period would show it two weeks after winter break on January 22nd. In the end, the schedule cycles periods every two weeks unless there are breaks in between those weeks.

Digital Communication teacher Ms. Anderson is excited that Ghouse TV is now being shown in classrooms again. She said, “I think Ghouse is a really good community resource and a great way to make people have a sense of belonging here at Galileo.”

She also added that Ghouse TV is now uploaded on a biweekly schedule because they have drastically improved the quality of the production which means they can’t do it weekly anymore since it would be way too much work for the students.

Student’s take on Ghouse being shown in class were mostly positive. “I think it should be streamed in classes because the news we got before isn’t shown anymore unless you have Instagram and sometimes I don’t look at that,” says Junior Jumah G.

Junior Arhjay K agrees saying, “Yes I feel that Ghouse needs to be streamed in classrooms so that people will be aware of what’s happening around the school.” Junior Nico R. adds. “Yeah, I think Ghouse should be shown in class since it’s pretty fun to watch.”
