Galileo Basketball continues to make history with the boy’s Fresh/Soph and the girl’s JV basketball team both, winning their playoff games on Wednesday night and advancing to the Championship game at Kezar Stadium on Friday February 16th. The boys will be playing at 4pm vs Lowell followed by the girls who will be playing Lincoln at 5:45.
The boy’s Fresh/Soph team was able to make the championship by beating Lincoln on February 14th, 55-48. The boys got off to a slow start, losing after the first quarter, but were able to get into a better offensive rhythm in the second quarter, eventually taking the lead by halftime, and never letting it go the rest of the game. The girl’s JV team advanced to their championship game by beating Balboa,34-25. The girls were able to hold the lead the whole game, and although Balboa was the bigger team, Galileo played tough and scrappy throughout, holding on for the win.
“I’m excited to be part of Galileo Basketball history with both the boy’s and girl’s teams making it to the championship game today. I think both teams have a great shot at winning, the game should both be highly competitive and I hope Galileo comes home with two titles” said Basketball Coach Mr.Lee.
