Songs that Should be in School Dances

It’s the season for school dances, as the “Galentines” dance happened this past Saturday, and the boat dance quickly approaching, students are expecting to hear the usual overhyped songs like “Cha Cha Slide”.

As someone who has been to multiple school dances, which were filled with songs that are mediocre at best, in terms of melody and vibe, I feel as though these songs ruin the nights of many in terms of hoping for better music.

To make an unforgettable and perfect school dance, the atmosphere should be filled with upbeat, heartfelt, and timeless songs. These songs will make you feel every type of emotion with their energetic, feel-good, romantic, or dance-worthy vibe.

Here’s my top categories of must have songs at a school dance:

For “dancing the night away”:

“Levitating” by Dua Lipa

“Blinding Lights” by The Weeknd

“Call Me Maybe” By Carly Rae Jepsen

For the slow, light hearted romance:

“Late Night Talking” by Harry Styles

“Until I Found You” by Stephen Sanchez

“Perfect” by Ed Sheeran

“Just the Way You Are” by Bruno Mars

“Yellow” by Coldplay

“Dance with Me” by beabadoobee

For falling in love for the first time:

“Valentine” by Laufey

“This is what falling in love feels like” by JVKE

“Always Forever” by Cults

For nostalgic love:

“APT” By ROSÉ & Bruno Mars

For singing your heart out:

For getting the crowd hyped:

“HUMBLE” by Kendrick Lamar

“Only Girl (In The World)” by Rihanna

For the friendships specifically:
