Henna Fest- Muslim Girl Association

To help provide clothing for children in Yemen. The Muslim Girl Club held a fundraiser, Henna Fest, on February 7th outside the Auditorium.

Henna, a traditional Arab form of temporary body art, is known for its beautiful red pigment and natural skin benefits. The dye comes from the leaves of the henna plant and has been used for centuries in various cultures.

The event featured intricate henna designs ranging from flowers to butterflies. Rehan, the president of the Muslim Girl Club, shared the club’s motivation behind the fundraiser: “All the work we put into fundraising and applying henna is for charity. As Muslims, our religion and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad encourage us to help those less fortunate. Even if we can only provide a single pair of pants to a child or a grain of rice, we are fulfilling our duty.”

The event saw a great turnout from both students and staff. AP Avar praised the event, saying, “I love the setup. The henna is beautiful—it’s an amazing idea.”

Henna was offered at $7 for one hand and $11 for both, with designs customized to each customer’s preference. The temporary tattoos last for about two weeks, serving as both an art form and a symbol of generosity.
