A Taste of Galileo Prom 2025

Food and drinks were part of what made this year’s senior prom unique and unforgettable. Hosted by Class of 2025 cabinet at The Pearl on Apr 12, 2025 The event featured 4 flavors of crepes as well as a few choices of cocktail drinks, featuring 4 flavors as well. The Galileo Press put together a ranking of these crepes and mocktails based on its flavor and its presentation.

Crepes:

1st: Deluxe Crepe

Flavor: Not too sweet, which is what makes a crepe good. The sweetness didn’t overpower the whole thing, and it was filled with fruits, including bananas and strawberries within every bite. Additionally, it was the best looking one with its artistic chocolate drizzle.

Rating: 8.5/10

2nd: Banana Boat

Flavor:  Very sweet, with its intense white chocolate flavor, which is also what made it unique. Every other crepe had only milk chocolate, while this had both white and milk chocolate. The taste was very creamy and the banana added a ton of flavor to it. However, the presentation brings the rating down as it was just like the deluxe, but with no effort as the chocolate drizzle was a mess.

Rating: 8/10

3rd: Rockstar Crepe

Flavor: It was basic; just filled with strawberry, but that’s also what made it good. Its simplicity made it so that none of the flavors overpowered the others. The strawberry jam paired very well with the chocolate and the strawberry toppings.  Similarly, its presentation was also average with just whipped cream and strawberry.

Rating 8/10

4th: S’mores Crepe

Flavor: Very heavy s’mores flavor. It definitely spoke to its name with its marshmallow and chocolate flavor hitting every bite. However, it still felt like just a chocolate crepe with marshmallows so it wasn’t that unique, but it was still good to try out. The presentation was good because of the graham cracker and marshmallow decorations.

Rating 7/10

Mocktails:

1st: Shirley Temple

Flavor: This was easily the best drink because it had no sourness to it. It was very sweet and the cherry flavor paired well with the sweetness. The topping of the cherry also added points to the rating. It was also the best presentation.

 Rating: 8/10

2nd: Rose Colored Glasses

Flavor: The first sip of this was amazing. The peach flavor was really present, but only for a short time. Then after a few sips, the drink started tasting bitter because of the peach bitter flavoring, and I couldn’t taste any of the peach flavor anymore. The first sips saved the ranking a lot.

Rating: 6/10

3rd: Pink Sweetart

Flavor: So bitter and sour. The cherry bitters and grapefruit flavor made the drink taste acidic.  I had high expectations that this drink would have a nice sweet taste because of the fruit flavors added, but it was quite the opposite.

Rating: 2/10

4th: Virgin Mojito

Flavor: Definitely the most bitter and had nothing that made it unique. It tasted like a soda, but bitter and had too much of an acidic taste from what I think was the lime. I only took 2 sips before I threw it away. The presentation saved this from being a 0.

Rating: 1/10
