The Galileo Key Club

By Riley Figueroa, Staff Writer

Adding to the list of clubs the Key Club gives high school students leadership and volunteer opportunities, meeting every Friday at lunch in room 464 to discuss opportunities to help around the city. It also offers students fun events for example like fall rally north where you go to Six Flags for the day with other Key clubs around the district.

Students who join the key club are qualified to run for club positions( i.e treasure, president, etc.), division positions, where you help run clubs throughout your division, regional positions, where you help run districts throughout the region, district positions, where you help run the regions within your district, and finally international positions, which helps run key club international.

Key Club relations manager (who is in charge of social media and posting upcoming events), Natalee Wong commented on the uniqueness of the club, saying, “I think it’s really fun I spent hours of my weekends going out to different places and doing different things. For example, the other weekend we went to a church and we helped straighten out origami; we just took a flat iron straightened it out and that was really fun. We also helped move boxes.”

Mr. Bee, who also teaches Chinese, is the club sponsor, and the club co-presidents are juniors Jacob Leung and Jennifer Lau
