Two large mobile vans from the senior health department parked outside the corner of Van Ness & Bay St to help the Health Academy hold its fall blood drive on October 25, 2022. Seniors took turns with shifts with check-ins and managing. Health academy english teacher Ms. Moffet says, “We had 33 donors who actually donated. We collected 27 whole blood and 5 2RB (both arms). This means we collected 111 lifesaving units for the hospitals.”
