2023 HALLOWEEN COSTUME CONTEST

By Tenzin Dawa, Staff Writer

The Annual Galileo Costume contest had a great turnout this year, with many creative costumes being exhibited for all to see.

For the winners of the best group costume group we have: Marcel G, Aiden P, Leo G and Shepard P, who went as 4 crayons. The crayon suits were made of cardboard and were hand colored by each of them. For inspiration, Aiden told Galileo press “There’s this cross country meme, and it’s like, cross country guys in the waiting room, and they’re dressed as crayons, and we wanted to recreate it. We were supposed to have 7 crayons but three of them ditched.”

For the winner of the most original costume, we have Joy D, who went as a dragon with unfolding wings. Joy told Galileo press that her costume was homemade from scratch, and that her mother helped her with a lot of it. The majority of the costume was made of cosplay foam and the mechanism for the wings was found online.

Among the winners of the best costumes we have Dexter G, who went as Marilyn Monroe, and Jennifer O, who went as Shrek. Dexter bought the dress and makeup online and had his mother help him with the makeup. Jennifer was a huge fan of Shrek and wanted to pay homage to one of her favorite characters.
