Boys Basketball Crushes Mission

The boys varsity basketball team destroyed the Mission bears, 83-35, with what could be the biggest win margin ever for Galileo at Mission setting the record to 1-1 in the early season league game on Tuesday, December 12th.

Galileo started off hot from the beginning of the game, leading 25-6 after only the first quarter. The Lions continued to pour it on the bears as they led 54-16. The Lions never were threatened and cruised to a win.

The Lions were led by senior guard Nelson L. who had a game-high and career-high 42 points, as well as adding 6 steals, and 5 assists in only 3 quarters of play.

“Tuesday’s game was pretty good, as a team I think we did a great job bouncing back from our loss against Lowell and competing. I felt like I did a pretty good job because I came into the game locked in knowing we had to win this game since we lost the last one,” said Nelson.

In addition to Nelson’s strong performance senior guard Jeward U. and junior center Dean B. contributed to Nelson’s hard work, as Jeward scored 14 points and also had 3 steals, while Dean contributed by having an all-around game, dropping a double-double (13 points,13 rebounds, 2 steals and 3 assists).
