Girls and Boys basketball team host 2 playoff doubleheaders for the first time

For the first time ever the Galileo girls and boys basketball team will make history, as they host 2 playoff doubleheaders, on Wednesday, February 14th-15th. The girl’s JV will kickoff the action at 4:30 on Wednesday followed by the Fresh/Soph boys at 6:00 P.M. After that, the boy’s varsity will start it off the second day at 4:30 P.M with the Girl’s varsity playing at 6:00 P.M.

The girl’s JV team was able to capture first place with a record of 7-1, while the boy’s f/s held on to 2nd place with a record of 8-1, with their only loss coming to Lowell. The girl’s Varsity, playing in Divison 1, had a strong season as they were able to take over 3rd in their division on the last game of the season where they beat Washington (38-17) and then won the draw to come in in 3rd, with a record of 5-5, since both teams had identical records. Meanwhile, the Varsity was able to hold on to 4th with a record of 9-5.

“This is an exciting time for both the girl’s and boy’s basketball programs. I know that both programs have worked really hard to be able to put themselves in this position to host a playoff home game. The fact that all 4 programs are hosting a game is special. I hope a lot of the Galileo community comes out to support us out there” said Basketball Coach Mr. Lee.
