Many memories with friends and teachers can be made after being in high school for 4 years, but there’s also a lot to look forward to once you’re done like being more independent or moving out. The Galileo Press asked the Class of 2024 what they’re going to miss about high school and what they are looking forward to after leaving high school.
Patrick T.
“One thing I’ll miss is being able to see my teachers whenever I want, and having the option to get help from them as often as I can.”
Jay C.
“What I’m gonna miss is being able to skip classes without any real big consequences compared to college. I’m looking forward to being able to live with my friends and being able to explore my options without having teachers annoy me.”
Jabra N.
“What I’ll miss is not being able to see all my friends because I’m used to seeing them everyday and hanging out not only in school but also out of school too. I’m looking forward to getting to start a new business and making a lof of money to be able to take care of my family.
Sean B.
I’m going to miss being dependent on others at school because I’ll have to worry about things like bills, student debt and other things I wont have to worry about right now but I’m also looking forward to being independent because I can worry more about what I want to do with my life
Daniel L.
“The thing I will miss is being able to meet up with my friends easily because everyone is close and live near each other, where in college everyone will be in different cities making it harder to be with each other. I’m looking forward is being able to do things that usually limit you in high school because of age, for example personal training or training to be a personal trainer.”
Connie H.
I’m going to miss the community because I’m in ASB and being able to work by planning events and being a part of making the memories for the high school experience and within that I’ve made lots of friends I will miss. I’m looking forward to explore more options because high school is very limited career path wise. College has more recourses and opportunity
Kayla R.
“Something that I’ll miss in high school is all the times me and my friends would go to Polk St. during lunch and after school. Something I look forward to is a new start and experience entering college.”
Didi C.
“I’m going to miss being able to hang out with friends before school since they’ll be moving because of where they will go for college. I’m definitely looking forward to meeting new people in college and having the freedom to be able to travel more.”
Rachelle B.
“I’m going to miss being care free and having the free time to have a job .What I’m looking forward to is being able to live by myself because I want the feeling of being independent.”
Pamela T.
“I’m going to miss not having to worry about things grown ups have to worry about. I feel like after high school any little mistake you can make can ruin your life. I’m looking forward to getting more classes that will help me more with what I want to do in future compared to high school.”
