The CTE Fair
By Fearooz Al-RabahiOn
Showing sophomores a taste of different options available to them next year, the CTE fair showcased over 12 classes and pathways. The fair lasted all day in the Van Ness gym on Friday March 22. Sophomore students were taken to the fair in either their PE or Avid classes.
Mr. McDowell, who hosted the CTE fair, explained why it was so valuable for the students to attend. He said, “It’s important that students have choices and as you can see by all the tables there are many. Teh classes are linked up with what’s happening in the outside world and when students learn about the real world it becomes more relevant to them and might have the potential of changing their lives.”
Izzy H. a student a part of Digi com who was also helped out at the CTE fair said, “I think it’s a good opportunity for people to learn more about pathways, academies and AP’s. It’s also a good way to meet teachers who are teaching those classes and students who have already taken the classes to see if you might be a good fit for it.”
