Secretary Appreciation Day

Gifting special purple and orange bouquets, as well as chocolates & a card, the Galileo secretaries were surprised with these gifts from art teacher, Ms. Partridge, on Secretary Appreciation Day on April 24th, 2024.

Ms. Partridge thought of the idea of doing something for the secretaries on Secretary Appreciation Day, not only to show appreciation because the secretaries’ work often goes unnoticed but also to find a way to bring out more school spirit.

With 25 donations, Ms. Partridge was able to go to her local flower shop and pick out beautiful flowers for the secretaries. She also got boxes of chocolates and cards filled with signatures from staff members.

When asked about why she did this, Ms Partridge said, “As a whole group we don’t really get together and celebrate individual people, so I just made an announcement during an all-staff meeting that it should happen and then they asked if I wanted to spearhead it, so I did. I also made cards and had my TAs as well as Ms. Capozzi’s TAs go around and have staff sign them.”

“Oh yes, I was very touched, very surprised, and what a beautiful bouquet and what wonderful thoughts on the cards.”

– Main Office Secretary Ms. Bettie Grinnell

“I was really surprised, it took my breath away. I felt really wonderful because this usually doesn’t happen to me, so it was such a surprise that I felt great, it was really a nice treat.”

– Counseling Office Secretary Ms. Judie White

“I was so surprised, this is my first time getting something like this in the 4 years I have worked here, it really meant a lot to me.”

– Accountant Ms. Ada Lau

“I was very surprised and happy of course. I feel really recognized for my work and appreciated, which really made me happy.”

– Attendance Office Secretary Ms. Lien On
