The team is also bringing in new talent, including freshmen, center back Douglass Merino and striker Allan Silva who are both determined to play soccer at a high level.

Both players echo the rest of the team in having high expectations for the new season. Douglass says,” I want to have a great time playing for my first year on the team and hopefully make it to finals as well.” Allan added,”My expectations are to experience a new level of soccer where I’ll be able to become better to bring my team to the championships.”

A challenge that Coach Mendoza sees for the upcoming season is chemistry. The team’s younger players will need to learn how to integrate into the team culture that’s already been established by the returning players.

Additionally, the Lions will have to contend with other challengers from last season, including Lowell, Washington and Mission.
