Mr. Miramontes

By Myles Deno, staff writer

After growing up in a conservative household, 2 hours south-east of SF, guitar and violin teacher Mr. Miramontes loves living in a more open-minded city like San Francisco that is more accepting of people. Growing up, Mr. Miramontes’ household was very religious and he didn’t feel at home because of the restrictions placed on him.

After growing up in such a strict household, Mr. Miramontes wanted to find a place that was open-minded. After visiting SF a couple of times, he felt this is where he belongs because he can meet new people, and feel accepted for who he is, and not who he’s supposed to be.

Another aspect of SF that Mr Miramontes doesn’t mind is that there are only really two major problems compared to other places in the country where the problems are bigger. He said, “Every city has something[a problem] like in the south-east you have hurricanes, in the north-east you have snowstorms, in the north-west you have floods, in the midwest you have tornadoes, and in Arizona and Texas it’s just gonna be “155,000” degrees. So for me, I’m like I don’t mind the homeless part or the expense so as long as I can live here I’m fine with it.”
