Due to past negative experiences she had in school, Spanish teacher Ms. Capozzi never expected to see herself become a teacher, but her experience living abroad in Spain for one semester and then living in Argentina for a year and a half led her to change her attitude concerning school and her career.
While Ms. Capozzi didn’t originally intend to become a teacher, but she has always had an interest in the Spanish language and the culture. Her passion in Spanish is what led her to major in Spanish. After committing herself to learn Spanish, Ms Capozzi decided that the best way to learn Spanish was to immerse herself in the language and culture. The only ways she could achieve this was by living in a Spanish speaking country. During her time in Argentina, she taught English for a year and a half, and realized she liked helping the students and watching them grow.
Throughout her experience, Ms. Capozzi has come to a realization, saying, “Learning another language opens up a whole new world that you may have never known existed”.
