7 Days of Inspirations (Amy Mei)

Inspiration to me is probably one of the meanings of life. Inspirations sprouts motivation, encouragement, excitement and joy. I chose these specific pictures to represent my inspirations in my life because of their individual significance. I discovered that these were my inspirations throughout quarantine & provided me with some comfort.

I’ve always wanted to have my own room and I finally got it during freshman year. My family and I worked hard to renovate the back of our house in order to build my room. I made a promise to myself that I was going to decorate it and make it have everything I’ve ever wanted in my dream room. As time went on, my decorations have changed along with my interests but, I feel like I have finally reached a point where my room now has everything that makes me feel comfortable. My room has now become my comfort space.

I am currently in the process of trying to work towards a healthy lifestyle. One of the things I like to do is work out and cook healthy meals that don’t taste bland and raw. One of my current favorite foods is avocado toast. I chose this picture because I posted this on Instagram and many people commented about how delicious it looked so I wanted to share it in my assignment. My mom also really likes this meal so it inspires me to keep exploring healthy meals.

This is my best friend Kaitlynn. We met in kindergarten and have been best friends ever since. People used to think we were twins but we’ve actually grown to be complete opposites. Having her with me though as I’ve experienced life has made it a little easier. She inspires me to always be real with myself and always supports me in whatever I do.

My family raised me since I was a baby and they mean so much to me. I’m not really that family oriented but simple things like cooking and enjoying a meal together stays with you. My family likes to cook my favorite dishes and tell funny stories about what I did when I was growing up in China. They inspire me to build my own version of what they created for me.

Cooking is one of my passions and I enjoy doing it a lot. My family and friends have all supported me and complimented me on all the dishes I share on social media. This is a picture of Korean rice cakes that I made during winter break for a family’s dinner. It was a hit and everybody enjoyed it. Rice cakes are also one of my ultimate favorite foods of all time.

I built this wall collage during the summer quarantine of 2020. I was honestly bored during the months of May to July so I decided to do some online shopping and came across a photo printing app. It took me 3 days to collect all the pictures and crop them to my liking. I eventually ordered them and it came to my doorstep. Every single person on that wall has a special place in my heart and it reminds me that I’m not alone in this world.

I broke my wallet and bought a camera during Black Friday. I don’t regret it because I knew it was going to be a good investment since I started my Youtube Channel during summer break. That was another good thing that came out of being in quarantine. I’ve always wanted to be a Youtuber ever since I was a little kid and now I’m finally starting to invest in myself. This camera also takes great pictures of my food creations and my family members.
