7 Days of Inspiration (Johnson Yu)

By Johnson Yu, staff writer

Everyone has their own goals, and they’re all working towards them. However, it isn’t always easy, and to overcome challenges, we often need inspiration from things that keep us going.

This is a picture of my tech setup. This is something I sit in front of every single day whether it’s for gaming or for school. This setup really inspires me because I worked really hard on setting up everything here, From buying the computer parts to assembling them, it tells me that I can do anything if I put my mind to it.

My basketball shoes are a big inspiration in my life. Although They haven’t been worn in a couple of months due to the pandemic, they still inspire me. Every time I look at the shoes, I’m reminded of the things that I am capable of doing on the court, and it inspires me to keep exercising and getting better.

Before quarantine, I carried this backpack with me everywhere. This backpack reminds me of the times before the pandemic and inspires me to work on myself until we are out of quarantine.

My parents bought me this guitar when I was younger. Although I rarely play on it, it is still an inspiration for me to one day, learn and be able to play it fluently. It sits next to my setup to remind me of it and to get to learning it.

This is a poster of the rapper, Logic. Logic used to be one of my favorite rappers, as he is one of the first rappers I listened to, he is very inspirational to me. This poster shows how Logic grew as a rapper, and it makes me feel inspired as I feel like I’ve been with him throughout all of those stages. The art style and the layout also inspire me to be a better artist.

My younger brother is someone I  am inspired to be successful for. To me, this is the biggest inspiration. He inspires me to work harder on myself as a person, role model, and to work hard to pursue my dream career. I am inspired to be a good role model, to lead him to the correct path and to be able to provide for him.

This is one of my favorite drawings. I am not only the proudest of this drawing, but it also inspires me to draw things better than this piece; to become a better artist and eventually pursue an art career.
