Career in the digital world

By Ivy Liang, Staff Writer

Pursuing her passion in digital media, digital communications and photography teacher Ms. Anderson gained her experience as a production assistant at Fox TV, working on the popular series “Family Guy” before getting a role at Prometheus Entertainment’s History Channel.

On the set of Family Guy’s design department, Ms. Anderson had the role of a design production assistant. She and her team had the job of giving the animation team, who worked abroad, the designs of backgrounds and outlines for characters that were created by the design team. They also made sure they had everything the company needed in order to properly animate the characters and backgrounds.

Ms. Anderson was only at Fox TV for 3 months, explaining, “What led me to leave the job was that I found myself conflicted by a lot of the content of the Family Guy stories, like the jokes.”

After that, Ms. Anderson found herself as a production assistant at Prometheus Entertainment’s History Channel. Similar to her job at Family Guy’s design department, she communicated with artists and the deadlines. But she and her team also designed slide decks for pitches, did motion graphics, and retouched photos, which was her favorite part. Eventually, Ms. Anderson’s time at Prometheus Entertainment was cut short due to the pandemic but she would’ve loved to stay for longer.

After Covid, Ms. Anderson pursued a Master’s degree in education, leading to her current position at Galileo.
