Breaking their curse, the Galileo girl’s flag football team cruised to a win against Balboa, 19-0, after losing the past two senior nights. With the win, the lioness kept their undefeated winning streak (6-0) and continued their defensive dominance, going on the entire season without anybody scoring on them.

The lioness offense started early with a pair of scoring plays by junior quarterback Sariyah D., and senior receiver Julieta J., one a 40-yard touchdown catch, and the other a 20-yard catch & run, which ended with first quarter score of 12-0.

Although the offense slowed down after these scores, the defense helped pick the team up in the 3rd quarter when senior linebacker Cali L intercepted a pass and ran 40-yards back for a touchdown.

The team was happy with their overall performance to end the regular season. Julieta J. said, “I’m glad we won our senior night for me and the other seniors the game was great, both our offense and defense were dominant with touchdowns and picks. there was an immense amount of energy from the crowd and the sidelines, making it even more exciting and I can’t wait for playoffs. “

On Wednesday April 12th the lioness will have a home playoff game versus Washington at 4pm, with the winner moving on to the championship on Saturday, April 15th at Galileo at 11am.
