It’s Almost Midnight At The Pearl

With over 200 tickets already sold, the Galileo senior prom is setting up to be the event of the year. It also helped that the Galileo Senior Cabinet got a head start to reserve a venue before any other school could. With an enchanted forest atmosphere, senior prom will be held at The Pearl on April 12th from 7pm-11pm.

With ticket sales opening 2 weeks ago at $75, a handful of students hurried to get their prom tickets at the lowest price, but those who missed out will now be paying $80, through this week, but after spring break the price goes up to $95. The senior cabinet is aiming for a turnout of 300 people, and they’re encouraging everyone to bring an outside guest (price for outside guests is currently $100, but will go up to $105 after spring break). This will be the first year that up to 2 Galileo guests will be allowed at the dance.

The Senior Cabinet continues to advertise ticket sales by creating flyers, videos, and posters for their peers to see. In order to get their Senior class more excited for Prom, they proposed a deal by including a chance to win a 50% discount for Promposals.

Throughout  the school year the senior class cabinet has been holding fundraisers, bake sales, selling senior jerseys, car washes, and school events to make money for the prom to create the most memorable night for their peers as possible. They even included their successful Soak-A-Senior and Penny Wars fundraisers, to help bring in more money.

Senior Cabinet recording secretary, Jia Ming Huang, said, “Prom’s going to be the last dance of their senior year and we want as many people to come and have fun. We got the best venue available for them because they’re never had a prom with three floors. We also have a variety of crepes and sweets that they can look forward to.”

With all the work the senior cabinet has put into prom, many students are excited about this last school dance. Senior Junwei Lan said, “I’m mostly excited about the food and the mocktail drinks that are being served. Going to prom is a good function where I can hangout with friends. Prom lets us make memories for high school and the ending four years we’ve been here.”
