I’m such a fatty at Food Fest. With an exciting variety of foods and drinks, there is always something for everyone. From dumplings to burgers to corn dogs to bubble waffles, I love them all. As an avid food fest spender, I typically spend around $35+ trying different foods and drinks.
For this article, I tried and rated over half of the foods offered at the food fest on March 25, the 3rd food fest of the school year, right before spring break.

Food: Nacho
Rating: 9.5/10
Why? SO FLAVORFUL. The workers gave me extra cheese! The presentation of the food was immaculate.
Value Score: 10/10. Got extra cheese for free! Portion was plentiful!

Drink: Shirley Temple
Rating: 7.5/10
Why? A bit basic and tasted mainly of Sprite. The worker gave me a discount and an extra cherry. I only drank a few sips because the Shirley Temple flavor was not enough for me to want more.
Value Score: 6/10. Not complex enough for what a Shirley Temple should be.

Food: Slider
Rating: 8/10
Why? VERY JUICY. I ate it all in 2 bites, and every bite felt like I was reaching epiphany. The beef was very meaty, and the sauce was savory.
Value Score: 8/10. It’s a very small slider for $5, but this one resonates with “Quality over quantity.”

Food: Chicken Katsu
Rating: 8/10
Why? A bit cold, but the flavor was good. The katsu was the best part. I wish I had another one.
Value Score: 7/10. Not enough of the portion for the chicken katsu to make up the money.

Food: Spam Musubi
Rating: 8/10
Why? It was colder than I expected. The spam-to-rice ratio is perfect. Reminds me of the spam musubi my dad would make.
Value Score: 9/10. It was the right portioning, but the coldness made the spam musubi less enjoyable for what it’s worth.

Drink: Boba
Rating: 9/10
Why? I love fruit tea. It also came with lychee jelly. Simple but yummy.
Value Score: 10/10. Lychee jelly was included. Same price for another drink that has no toppings. SO WORTH IT!

Drink: Mango Sago
Rating: 8/10.
Why? Warm, needs ice. Other than that, it was very creamy. I loved the mango bits that were inside.
Value Score: 8/10. Would’ve scored higher if it was cold. The warmth made it less refreshing.

Drink: Boba
Rating: I left this boba on a bench outside the courtyard, and someone stole it. Looks delicious though!!
Value Score: 0/10. $7 gone.

Food: Corn-Dog
Rating: 9/10
Why? I was one of the first people to get it, so it was super-duper warm. 10/10 CHEESE PULL. After lunch finished, I decided to eat another one. This time, it was a COMBO Corndog. The cheese is the best one!!
Value Score: 9/10. The combo was only a dollar more than regular cheese/corndog.

Food: Popsicles
Rating: 7/10
Why? Basic. Good for a hot day like this and as a mini dessert. Not a ton of promised flavoring (lemon). Tasted more ice than a popsicle.
Value Score: 6/10. It should’ve been a little cheaper than $2 for one.
