The Lioness jamboree

By Cali L staff writer

The Galileo Lioness flag football team held a four-team jamboree, and got a visit from retired 49er Dennis Brown on Saturday, February 25th to kick off their season. The Lioness faced off against Lincoln, Balboa, and Lowell with each school playing 10 minutes of offense and defense each. No scores were kept as the day was more about seeing where teams were at, so mistakes could be improved before the flag football season starts.

“The team met my expectations & did a fantastic job against 3 teams we’ll see during the season,” said head coach Adrian Poot. 11th grade quarterback Sariyah D. added,” it was good we got off to a rocky start in the beginning but overall we had 13 interceptions so our defense was there but not as many offensive touchdowns.”

The Lioness will face off against the ICA Spartans in the first game of the season, on Wednesday March 1st at 4pm at Galileo.
