Galileo’s gym was the center of attention as both the varsity boys’ and girls’ basketball teams battled in a home playoff doubleheader on Thursday, February 20th. The varsity girls secured a dominant 45-31 victory over Academy, while the boys followed up with an impressive 74-45 win over Balboa, sending both teams to the semifinals at Kezar. The girls will be playing on Tuesday, February 25th at 4pm versus Lowell, while the boys take on Washington on Wednesday February 26th at 5:30pm.
Coach Mark, one of Galileo’s boys coaches, said, “It was very an exciting night of basketball because both teams played home again, and it’s rare for the boys and girls to be cheering with each other along with the crowd. It was loud during the game and with Galileo Cheer also performed at half time, it added the overall excitement of the night.”
