Galileo’s Birthday Celebration

The Galileo Science Department honored Galileo Galilei’s birthday in the courtyard on February 21, 2025 by giving out free cake slices which had a long line. There were also showcases of activities that included the Robotics club’s creations. The reason for displaying this was because of how Galileo was an inventor himself.

Some students who helped with the showcase enjoyed the experience. Senior Mia J., who is part of the robotics club, said, “The setup wasn’t much work, except that the robot is about 50 pounds so we brought a cart. It was pretty fun as I was passing out flyers for the club and my team was driving it around.”

A.P. Avar commented on her overall thoughts of the festival, saying, “I thought it was cool and it had lots of birthday cakes and a huge line of students. There were many science presentations to learn about static electricity, how physics works with weights on spiral stools with Ms. Wong, and even some robotics demonstrations.”
