In their first match of the season, the Galileo Boys’ Volleyball team triumphed over Archbishop Riordan with a 3-1 victory (25-17, 25-22, 20-25, 25-22), giving the Lions a strong start to the season at 1-0, on Friday, February 28. The Lions used this first match to experiment with their lineups, switching up players to see which combinations performed best versus a newly formed Riordan team, playing in their first school match ever.  Even though the Crusaders had impressive size and athleticism, the Lions experience helped them come out on top.

“I was very impressed and proud of how my team played. With the amount of time we had with my transition into the new coach, I say, we did pretty well. We will have some work to do to clean up our defense and to become stronger on offense,” said first year coach, Nina Campy-Dailey

With the victory secured, the Lions will next face South San Francisco and El Camino in back-to-back games on March 5 and March 6.
