After his girlfriend always made fun of him for not having any other shoes besides boots, paraprofessional Mr. Andres Trujulio invested in his first pair of sneakers 4 years ago, a pair of Converse high tops, and from then on was hooked. Over years of collecting he has collected over 80 pairs of sneakers, collecting shoes from various brands such as Nike, Adidas, and Jordan’s.
Mr. Trujillo’s love of sneaker collecting gives him a future goal to aim for. He says, “I honestly love to collect sneakers and want to keep collecting them in the future where I will be able to showcase my own collection in a store.”
Mr. Andres believes his collection is worth about $5,000, but unlike other sneaker collectors, he likes to wear his shoes because he feels like there’s no point to just keep them in the box.
Among the shoes he’s collected, one shoe that stands out to him is the Jordan 4 Union LA. The Jordan 4 Union LA stand out to him because of its unique color way it has unlike other shoes that are too “basic” or plain.
In terms of sneakers he’s looking forward to buying, he has his eyes on the “Comme des Garçons Homme x New Balance 860 Lowtop”, which he hasn’t gotten yet because he wants to use some coupons and promo codes for them. He wants these specific pair of shoes because he likes how the colors of the shoes are very appealing and they can go with any outfit.
Mr. Trujulio wants to keep collecting different pairs of sneakers to hopefully expand his collection. He’s looking forward to increase his collection’s worth, aiming to someday own rare, limited edition pieces that showcase his unique style and passion for his sneaker collection.
He also sees being a high school teacher as a connection to his shoe collecting. Mr. Trujulio says, “I like to see students with all these cool shoes and that makes me want to keep collecting them.”
