Updated: ASB Raffles VR Headset

By: Myles Deno, staff writer

UPDATE: The ASB is no longer allowed to continue the raffle because administration said the ASB is not allowed to hold fundraisers in that way(as a giveaway).

Hoping to raise money for prom, the Galileo ASB has launched a raffle for a brand new Oculus Quest 2 Virtual Reality headset.  The ASB hopes to raise at least $400, in order to offset the cost of the Oculus & still raise some money for prom.

Students  can buy tickets for the raffle from the ASB store located at room 150. Each ticket costs $5 or you can get 5 tickets for $20. You can buy tickets from February 9th to March 18th. All grades are allowed to enter.

With virtual reality products being the future of technology, Galileo ASB thinks that this prize will catch people’s eyes. ASB’s Corresponding Secretary Jacob L. had this to say about the Oculus raffle, “I think the raffle will be successful because it [Oculus VR set] is pretty trendy right now.”

Students have mixed reactions regarding the raffle. 11th grader Adonis L. said,“No, I won’t be buying any raffle tickets because I don’t want an Oculus Headset, I just don’t like VR.”

On the other hand, 11th grader Andrew M. said, “Yes, I will be buying a raffle ticket because my friend made me get one. I also want the Oculus set because it’s the next level of technology, the next level of gaming.”
