With the school year ending, it’s safe to say very few events took place. That being said, there was probably just a welcome back assemble and song and yell, however this could be due to the transition back from being at school online for a year. Because of this, we ask next year’s returning students and teachers: “What do you hope to see next school year?”
“I definitely want to see a homecoming dance after the football game, the homecoming game. I’d like to see more song and yell, events like that. I’d also like to see the numbers in all sports go up. I think we need to have higher participation in our sports across the board and I think just having the world open up a little bit more will kind of help that out.”
– Coach Nick N.
“I’d really like to see a whole bunch more events. I want to see more of a community within our school.. so more assemblies, more events like food fests and such. I definitely want to see less masks and no more Covid.”
– Mr. Okochi, Science Teacher
“I want to see more in-school activities. I want to see things like carnivals, food fests, rallies.. activities that involve the whole school though, not just the separate grade levels.”
– Katelyn A., Junior
“Well, I’m more into sports so maybe pep rallies that revolve specifically around sports, you know? For example, 7 on 7’s with both the girls and guys, and overall events that take place around sports and the whole school. I think that’d be pretty cool.”
Daniela C., Sophomore
“I’m looking forward to joining sports and seeing what that’s like. I want see the basketball team and maybe some clubs. I also want to go on field trips.”
Hosan A., Freshman
“I think I kind of want to see more field trips and more interactive things. This year, it felt like we were still in a pandemic with everything being so spread out. I just hope next year we can go back to when things were more ‘together’ than apart.”
Steven S., Sophomore
“I want to see more school events such as song and yell and more. I also want to see sports events take place you know maybe grade vs. grade.. really anything that has to do with a more involved school.
