Inspired to teach math after witnessing first hand kids not reaching goals, new Galileo geometry teacher, Mr Marti, works to inspire kids to understand and grasp math better.
Mos recently Mr. Marti worked in the department of curriculum and instruction in the SFUSD central office for 5 years but his job at the central office lost funding. However, this gave him the opportunity to go back into teaching, being inspired to reach the kids himself to create change within the system helping less privileged kids have equal opportunity.
Regarding his opportunity to teach at Galileo, Mr. Marti said, “I’ve been teaching in classes for 13 years and and been in education for 30, what makes Gal unique is its beautiful views and history, when I tell people I teach here and they always say they know someone that’s been here.”
