English Teachers New Year Poll

By Ethan Huang, Kevin Tan, Myles Deno and Francisco Diaz

What are you looking forward to in 2022? How do you expect this year to be different from last year?  Do you have a new year’s resolution?

“I am expecting a comeback year since we had it rough. I feel like the pendulum is gonna swing back this year and things are going to turn around. I’m looking forward to taking a trip to Europe this year with another teacher. I made a new year’s resolution to go to the gym 3 times a week.”

Ms.Harte

“I’m looking forward to seeing more of my family and friends more often in 2022 and I expect to be visiting my family in San Diego more. I always have New Year resolutions. This year, my resolutions are to be nicer and to get back into the practice of playing the piano.”

Ms. Gates

“This year, I am looking forward to not wearing a mask because I hope we will be out of this[Pandemic] and be healthy. I feel like we are more of a community because we are all back together in person, hopefully everyone will get to know everyone a bit more and not feel isolated. My new year resolution is to take care of myself a bit more, since I had to help a lot of people last year and didn’t care about myself as much; just having a few breaks to myself is good.”

Ms.Moffett

“I will be looking forward to the virus being eradicated and just going back to normal times, before the covid; before the entire mask and quarantine thing would be great. I expect the pandemic to last for a while, I don’t have any New Year resolutions because I don’t believe in them, and because I suck at keeping them.”

Ms.Peter

“I’m looking forward to some semblance of continuity, something consistent. Personally, I’m looking forward to releasing my second book. I expect this year to be more like how things were before the pandemic. I don’t do a lot of resolutions, I try to keep a lot of good routines, I have a goal to spend more time on writing.”

Mr. Kyle
