We’ve started a new year and a new semester after finishing the year with gifts and encouraging words from family. We’ve gone around Galileo asking teachers their plans for the new year “What are you hoping for this year? What would you like to do/accomplish? Why?”
“I would like to do a road trip to Alaska, that did not happen last year because the Canadian border was closed. I am hoping for covid to go away completely so everything could go back to normal.” – Mr. Huynh
“I’d like to get my video students back on track and making videos that can go into film festivals and film contests. I want them to make good quality videos that are full of thought and have some content. After the last two years, I just want to make it through this year and I don’t have any particular goals. To keep my head down and make it through another year.” – Mr.Matchay
“I am hoping for an easy year with comfort and stability. We have all been faced with so many challenges at school, at home, and in our country that I think the amount of discomfort we have all felt is becoming excessive for me. I would like to accomplish thinking about my next steps in life. I came to San Francisco from a small town in 2017 to explore as many options as I could personally and professionally.” – Mr.Miramontes
“I am hoping I survive the year without getting covid I am hoping for less stress and happy students. And I am hoping some of my art students become proud of what they created. I would like to accomplish creating my own artwork outside of school. Start a project and finish in a timely manner. I would like to be able to see more friends and family.” – Ms.Partridge
“As much as possible, to have a good experience for every student. So to have as much fun and as much academic progress as I can with the students. But I hope they[students] feel like they had a good year, so that’s what I want. Work can be very hard and have a lot of pressure on me. My goal outside of school is to make everybody happy. Whenever I’m home with my family the pressure goes away and I can relax. I want to be nice to my family because they are accepting of my stress from school. I am relying on their generosity and their kindness, so I want to be nice to them also.” – Ms.Sakura
